Mbappe or Bellingham – Who do Real Madrid need more?

Real Madrid are one of, if not the premier club in Europe. Their honours list speaks for itself, and they remain one of the most successful and celebrated football clubs on the planet. The club have long prided themselves on their ability to spot and secure emerging talent, it’s what’s got them to where they are today.

As one of the most successful clubs in the world, it’ll come as no surprise to learn that Real Madrid are often the favourites for all major competitions and to land the hottest talent in the sport. Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham are two of the brightest talents in the game today. Who does Real Madrid need more, and who could be making their way to the Bernabeu? Let’s find out.

Kylian Mbappe – The Rise of a Star?

Kylian Mbappe needs no introduction. The 24-year-old PSG winger has dazzled for club and country and is regularly ranked as one of the best players in the world. He has been a superstar for years, but he truly shot to stardom when he helped guide France to a World Cup victory in 2018. He electrified his national side’s campaign and became France’s youngest-ever player to score in a World Cup final at the age of just 19.

For PSG this season, Mbappe has scored 31 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions, and in the six years he has been at the Parisian club he has scored 202 goals and registered 96 assists in 252 appearances.

Mbappe started his career at AS Bondy, where his talents were evident from an early age. A slew of major European clubs were vying for his signature, including Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Liverpool. However, Mbappe ultimately decided to accept an offer to join Monaco instead.

After brief spells in the Monaco under 19 and under 21 sides, Mbappe was quickly promoted to the first team, where he spent a year and scored 27 goals. Word was spreading fast about this fantastic young talent, and it wasn’t long before the big clubs came calling again.

This time, it was PSG who managed to secure Mbappe’s signature, and he joined the Parisian side in 2017. The rest, as they say, is history.

Jude Bellingham – The Casinos’ Favourite?

A quick glance at the odds for potential next clubs, it would seem that Jude Bellingham is more likely to join Real Madrid than Mbappe. Before we can discuss whether or not the top betting casinos have got it right, first let’s take a look at Bellingham and get an idea of his career so far.

It’s almost unbelievable to think that Jude Bellingham is still only 19 years old. He is one of the most talked about players in the world and his class and composure on the ball are like that of a player 10 years his senior.

His career began at Birmingham City, but he was soon snapped up by German giants Borussia Dortmund, who secured the then 17-year-old’s signature in a deal rumoured to be valued at around £22.5 million.

It has been at Borussia Dortmund that Bellingham has really come into his own. The midfielder has made 127 first-team appearances for Dortmund and even captained the side, an incredible feat for a 19-year-old.

He’s scored 20 goals and bagged 25 assists in his time there, but these numbers only tell half of the story. Bellingham is a playmaker; his creative spark and tactical awareness make Dortmund tick. Whether he is driving forward in attack or sitting back to soak up pressure, he is integral to how the team functions and has become their most indispensable player.

Who Could Be Heading to Real Madrid?

What young player doesn’t dream of playing for Real Madrid? It’s the club where legends are made and players go down in history.

Real Madrid have some of the best players in the world; Modric, Vinicius Jr, and Benzema to name just a few. However, all teams need to refresh and rebuild to stay on top. Modric, at the age of 37, is certainly in the twilight of his career. Could Bellingham be brought in with a view to replacing the Croatian genius?

On the other hand, Real Madrid could be looking to add some more firepower up top. With Mbappe joining the likes of Benzema and Vinicius Jr, the Madrid front line would be seriously formidable and enough to strike fear into any and all of Europe’s big clubs.

Real Madrid don’t necessarily need one of Mbappe or Bellingham more than the other. However, as one of the biggest clubs in the world, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see one or even both of these stars heading for the Bernabeu at some point in the future.
