How many US players are in the Premier League right now
The 2023-24 season marks the 30th anniversary of the Premier League format at the top of the football pyramind and started last August with an impressive number of Americans throughout the 20 teams that compete in England’s topflight.
Many young players were transferred to English clubs at the start of the peaks of their careers after their performances in the USMNT. Here is the current roster of US players in the Premiership.
USMNT Stars Shine In The EPL
Antonee Robinson
One of the first names that comes to mind while talking of these types of players in the Premier League is Antonee Robinson. Though "Jedi" Robinson was born in the U.K., he settled in the U.S. in 2018.
Robinson started his career at just 11 years old when he started playing in Everton's academy. He has played with clubs, like the Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic, but he's currently playing for Fulham after signing a five-year contract in July 2023 until 2028.
Tim Ream
Another American at Fulham is Tim Ream, who has been with the club since 2015, when he transferred from Bolton Wanderers. The defender has stood out in the club; however, a few injury setbacks threatened his time in the league. When he played in the USMNT during the World Cup in Qatar, the 35-year-old showed his true potential.
Ream is considered a veteran at Fulham, but before his time in the league, he played as a defender in his hometown college, Saint Louis University. He later joined the Chicago Fire and the New York Red Bulls. In late 2023 Ream extended his contract with Fulham until the summer of 2025.
Matt Turner
Goalkeeper Matt Turner made a place for himself in Arsenal in the 2022-23 season. Still, the New Jersey native didn't enjoy many minutes with the team. Turner concluded his Arsenal career with seven appearances across all competitions.
This season, he made the move to Nottingham Forest; where he is expected to improve the team in defence since they were the fourth worst team the previous season, conceding 68 goals.
Ethan Horvath
Ethan Horvath also plays as a goalkeeper for Nottingham Forest. The Colorado native spent last season on loan, playing for Luton Town. The loan agreement included an option for Luton to buy the 28-year-old stopper, but they chose not to take up that clause.
After not being included in Steve Cooper’s 25-man squad and out of contract at the end of the season, he will leave the club regardless come June next year. However, the Reds will be looking to move the 28-year-old on in January will the aim of receiving a fee.
Gabriel Slonina
Another American goalkeeper is Gabriel Slonina. This 'keeper became the second youngest player in an MLS club in 2019 when he was 14 years old, playing with the Chicago Fire.
Slonina was born in Addison, Illinois, in a Polish family; however, he has yet to find himself representing Poland. This will be Slonina's second season playing with Chelsea since he signed with the club in the summer of 2022.
Zack Steffen
Talking about goalkeepers, Zack Steffen was a Manchester City player until this January. He struggled with a knee injury that held him back while at the club and he was the third choice goalkeeper behind Ederson and Stefan Ortega.
Zack Steffen recently signed with the Colorado Rapids, marking his return to the U.S.

Auston Trusty
Auston Trusty is currently playing for Sheffield United. Yet, this isn't Trusty's first Premier League club; in 2022, he signed for Arsenal, from the Colorado Rapids. He played on loan last season with Birmingham City, where he was named Birmingham's Player of the Season. His performance led him to get a place in the USMNT.
Chris Richards
This year, Crystal Palace has given Chris Richards a second opportunity. Though Richards joined the club in the 2022-23 season, he didn't have enough minutes even though the 23- year-old has shown a promising performance as a center-back. Richards has struggled with some injuries that interfered with his first season in Egland. Still, he's expected to earn more minutes this season.
Richards' professional career started back in 2018, when he signed with FC Dallas and partnered with F.C. Bayern, marking his international debut. His time at Crystal Palace started with a five-year contract after transferring from F.C. Bayern.
Tyler Adams
The midfielder was signed by Bournemouth for £20 million, becoming the second most expensive transfer in the club's history. Fans initially thought that Adams would sign with Chelsea after he was relegated with Leeds United when he suffered an injury that saw him off the pitch during the summer.
The MLS’s New York Red Bulls helped Adams begin his professional career. He spent some time in RB Leipzig until he joined Leeds United in 2022, though there weren't many remarkable moments during his time with the club. Still, in 2022, he won the U.S. Soccer Player of the Year.
Luca Koleosho
Lastly, an internationally eligible player such as Luca Koleosho has gotten the eye of a few national teams, such as the United States, Italy, Nigeria, and Canada. Though Koleosho was born in Connecticut, he spent several years playing in Spain. Since becoming familiar with the European football, he recently signed a four-year contract with Burnley.
