Premier League Market: Who's Joining the Top Clubs in Summer 2025?
Depending on who you support, the summer transfer window has been rather exciting, seemingly offering more signings than 2024. Many big names have joined some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League, which will likely result in an exciting 2025-26 season for football fans worldwide. Continue reading to learn about the most exciting prospects joining the top clubs in summer 2025.
Florian Wirtz to Liverpool FC
Just when you think Liverpool FC couldn't get any stronger, they sign Florian Wirtz from Bayern Leverkusen during the summer transfer window 2025. He's a superb playmaker who could help the Reds secure back-to-back Premier League titles, as he knows how to score and assist many goals. If he helps the club to do so, there is no question fans will believe he's worth every penny of his £116 million fee.
However, the club's signings haven't stopped there, as they recently signed Jeremie Frimpong, Wirtz's teammate from Leverkusen, for £29.5million, suggesting they'll be an unstoppable force on the pitch. As a result, many fans might not hesitate to back Liverpool during the 2025-26 season. Also, Giorgi Mamardashvili has joined for £29 million, providing the team with a strongnumber two goalkeeper to replace Alisson when needed.
Manchester United Secure Matheus Cunha
Manchester United struck early during the 2025 summer transfer window to secure Matheus Cunha, unlocking his £62.5 million release clause from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with some reports suggesting the club paid $66 million to sign the forward.
It is the first huge signing for new manager Ruben Amorim, which might start a new era for Manchester United following a disappointing 2024-25 season, as the club finished in 15th place in the Premier League. Also, United has signed rising star Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno for $7 million to strengthen its defence.
Mohammed Kudus Signed for Tottenham Hotspur
The summer transfer window 2025 hasn't failed to surprise, as Tottenham Hotspur signed Mohammed Kudus for £54.5 million from West Ham, marking an unusual transfer between two London rivals. New manager Thomas Frank reportedly set his sights on Kudus due to his versatility on the pitch, as he is well-regarded for his ability to play in attacking midfield roles and acrossthe front line during a game. Therefore, he could strengthen Spurs' attack during the 2025-26 season and provide a greater chance of lifting the Premier League trophy.
Of course, Frank hasn't overlooked the team's defence ,either, as he recently signed defenders Kevin Danson from Lens for £21 million and Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale for £5 million.
While it's a bit further away, Spurs also secured the signature of St Patrick's Athletic youngster Mason Melia earlier in 2025. The 18 year old is yet to join the Lilywhites with his move not set to be finalised until January 2026, but Tottenham's punt on a young up and comer made Melia the most expensive transfer ever from the League of Ireland at an initial fee of £1.6 million. Considering the prize money for winning the league is reportedly €125,000, it will be interesting to see whether St Patrick's Athletic can astutely reinvest the fee and improve their odds for a successful season at Irish bookmakers like NetBet. Melia is certainly a player to watch out for in the future, although he may not set the league alight when he arrives.
Tijani Reijnders to Play for Manchester City
Manchester City experienced a fall from grace during the 2024-25 season. After winning four back-to-back Premier League titles, the team finished third in the table last year. As City conceded many goals and struggled to score at times, manager Pep Guardiola is attempting to rebuild and strengthen the team's defence this season by signing Tijani Reijnders from AC Milan for £46 million. It will fill a much-needed gap on the team since Kevin De Bruyne left, as Reijnders is a solid defender with superb attacking skills on thepitch.
Strengthening the squad is Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, who has signed for a reported £31 million. Also, Rayan Cherki will bolster the team's attack, as he has joined from Lyon for £34 million. However, that's not all, as Manchester City have secured 18-year-old Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg for $12.5 million, who could be a future star in central midfield.
Aware City needs to stop many goals slipping into the net, Guardiola hand-picked goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli to transfer from Chelsea for £2million, providing the team with a safe pair of hands if Ederson can't play.
