Roma have confirmed they are in negotiations with Chinese side Jiangsu Suning over the sale of former Arsenal forward Gervinho, 28.

Arsenal are close to selling Ivory Coast international striker Gervinho, 26, to Italian club Roma for £8m.

Lyon could include France midfielder Yoann Gourcuff, 27, in their bid to beat Roma to the signing of 26-year-old Arsenal winger Gervinho.

Lyon have made an approach to Arsenal to take 25-year-old forward Gervinho on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Turkish side Galatasaray are thought to be preparing a £12m offer for Arsenal forwards Lukas Podolski, 27, or Gervinho, 25.
