Burnley have enquired about the availability of QPR defender and club captain Nedum Onuoha

The Black Cats are considering making a bid for QPR's 30-year-old former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha.

Hughes is hoping to persuade Nedum Onuoha to move to Loftus Road after agreeing a £2.5m fee with Manchester City for the 25-year-old defender.

Nedum Onuoha is another QPR target with the club preparing to offer the Manchester City defender, 25, more than £80,000 a week.

Hughes has already contacted his former club Manchester City about signing defenders Nedum Onuoha and Wayne Bridge, and Blackburn to make an £8m offer for Christopher Samba. Hughes has a budget of £30m to spend in January.
