Birmingham are set to offer a contract to former Norwich and Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong after he impressed on trial

Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong is a wanted man, with both Monaco and Russian side Rubin Kazan interested in signing the 25-year-old.

QPR boss Mark Hughes has set his sights on Spurs centre-back Sebastien Bassong, 25, and Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega, 26, in a last-minute spending spree.

QPR are planning to sign Tottenham defender Sebastien Bassong in January, who they almost signed in the summer only for the move to fall apart when Spurs failed to talk Bolton into selling them England centre-back Gary Cahill.

Tottenham have emerged as favourites to sign Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill after Arsenal pulled out of the running, and the Lilywhites are planning to offer cash plus Sebastien Bassong and David Bentley, although the Trotters are thought to want a cash-only deal.
